After the demise of Compay Segundo in 2003, his son Salvador Repilado with Hugo Garzon and the Buena Vista Social Club musicians, created the Grupo Compay Segundo, to pursue and share his father's musical legacy.Indeed, the musical influence of "Máximo Francisco Repilado Muñoz," nicknamed Compay Segundo, is still present on stages around the world. Audiences have fond memories of "El Grupo Compay Segundo y sus Muchachos", originally founded by Compay Segundo. With the current name, Grupo Compay Segundo, the musicians who accompanied him during his triumphant global tour pay tribute to a true musician.
